2025 Annual Meeting & Picnic

Our Annual Meeting and Picnic on August 13, 2025 was another success: great weather, a fascinating speaker, an enthusiastic group of attendees, and a hearty potluck/barbecue for all to share.

Our Annual Meeting & Picnic on August 13, 2025 was another happy success. A great turnout (70 people), a fascinating speaker, high spirits, and so much great food to share!

We began with some well-chosen words of appreciation from our Board President, Boyd Haight, recognizing the many years of service offered from retiring board and former President member Frank Chudnow. The gathering then picked up speed, learning about guest speaker Curt Brown’s fascination with marine biology. President of the new venture in Prospect Harbor, Bold Coast Seafood, Curt spoke of responsible lobster processing and the company’s plans to focus on sustainability. Everyone is welcome to schedule a tour of the plant!

Our trusty Road. Warrior, Tom McKeag, spoke first about the continuing efforts that are in planning stages by the Gouldsboro Coastal Sustainability Committee. He then quickly changed his hat, and spoke to the group about the importance of maintaining the only emergency access road for all residents—the unpaved section of Grand Marsh Bay Road sometimes known as the Orphan Road.

PBRA Board President Boyd Haight and Treasurer Steve Coffey followed up with official business, including a unanimous vote in favor of the slate of proposed Board Members that was put forth. We congratulate Jeff Jeude, our newest Board member at large! And we bid a fond farewell to former Board member Frank Chudnow, who is finally stepping away from the Board after many years of service to attend to other obligations.

Through it all, we were the lucky beneficiaries of the many efforts of our wonderful Membership Committee, who again arranged lovely floral bouquets for every table, and made sure we had something to nibble on through the presentations.

The Membership Committee also managed the table settings, the Pot Luck feast, and negotiated our main course with Winter Harbor Provisions, who graciously donated all the hot dogs, burgers and fixings to us, their PBRA neighbors. What a generous crew!
